What's your Pace?
Keeping the Pace for a Healthier You
Baylor Medical Center at Uptown offers same day joint replacement surgery for eligible patients undergoing total hip replacement surgery and total knee replacement surgery. This new and innovative approach means patients can have surgery one morning and go home that same day.
Recognized by its committment to service and quality, Baylor Medical Center at Uptown provides a patient-centered and compassionate approach to help you return to a healthy and active lifestyle. Our team of therapists, nurses, and surgeons are dedicated to caring for you every step of the way to ensure you are on the road to a new and healthier you.
In the past, joint replacement patients typically would spend three to four days in the hospital or even longer. But thanks to advances in joint replacement and pain management, patients can go home the same day of surgery. Now a patient’s rehabilitation begins within hours after surgery. If your surgeon and therapist determine it would be better for you to stay with us overnight following your surgery, our team of caregivers will continue to help you on your road to recovery on our inpatient unit.
