Dr. Dao attended Texas A&M University System HSC College of Medicine, in 2003, and performed her Internship in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, TX, 2004. Her residency in general surgery was also performed at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, TX, in 2008; where she held a fellowship in surgical breast oncology in 2009.
Dr. Dao is a member of the Dallas County Medical Society and has been recognized with a number of awards including the Ralph Tompsett Writing Award, Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings, 2008; Raleigh Ross Scholar at Texas Surgical Society, 2007; Best Poster Presentation at American College of Surgeons, North Texas Chapter, 2007; John Halverson Young Investigator Award, American Society for Bariatric Surgery, 2006; Outstanding Third Year Resident on Cardiothoracic Service, 2006; Outstanding Research as a Resident, 2006; Five Star Spirit, 2006; Presidents Undergraduate Fellowship, Senior Thesis Research Grant, 1998; Swan Award, Senior Thesis Research Grant, 1998; Psi Chi National Honor Society, 1997; and Hearst Academic Scholarship, 1996. She is also a member of the American College of Surgeons.
